The Business Development Directorate is in charge of the financial administration of Ambjent Malta including the operational plans and their financing. It includes the purchase sections (procurement), public accounts keeping (accounts), monitoring of financial estimates (finance) and the department’s central warehouse (stores).

Support to the Directorate of Environmental Projects (Environmental Projects Directorate) is given by various sections that fall under this directorate including, carpenters, blacksmiths, builders, mechanics, heavy machinery drivers, maintenance sections, transportation and all machinery within Ambjent Malta.

Malta Embellishment Landscaping Projects

Malta Embellishment Landscaping Projects (MELP) is tasked with the monitoring of works performed by the Landscaping Contractor. MELP inspects and endorses the maintenance of landscaped parcels situated in arterial roads and selected public gardens. MELP is also entrusted to analyse and approve new landscaping projects and designs as well as planting schemes.

An up-to-date inventory is maintained by MELP including the parcel areas, plant number and species as well as the levels of embellishment as established by the Landscaping Contract. Booking for activities held in public gardens falling under the remit of Ambjent Malta are also managed by MELP.
